Sierra K. Chandler, Esq.

Sierra K. Chandler is an experienced divorce and family law attorney representing clients through every step of their case. She has represented parties through contentious divorces, custody disputes, mediations, and the temporary restraining order process. When an injustice occurs in the courtroom, Sierra is not afraid to appeal the matter to a higher court for her clients. Sierra knows that every family is unique, and works to ensure clients feel respected, heard, and guided through the complex court process.

Prior to joining Hira & Strlovski, LLC, Sierra practiced at The Law Office of Rajeh A. Saadeh, LLC, handling complex cases in family and civil law. She completed a Judicial Clerkship in the Superior Court of New Jersey Family Court with the Honorable Magali M. François, J.S.C. wherein Sierra observed wide-ranging cases from post-judgement divorce, to special immigrant juvenile cases, to matters of neglect and abuse investigation and intervention on behalf of minor children.

Sierra earned her J.D. in 2019 from Rutgers School of Law. She was honored to receive a Marsha Wenk Fellowship in 2018 through which she worked with the ACLU of New Jersey in Newark, and was distinguished with the Eric R. Neisser Public Interest Scholarship. Sierra was active in the local community as a Street Law educator and a summer law clerk for NJ LEEP. She worked as a clinical law student for the Criminal & Youth Justice Clinic and the Education & Health Law Clinic. She was an associate editor of the Women's Rights Law Reporter. Sierra co-founded the Legal Film Society and served as Co-Chair of the Public Interest Law Student Association. She graduated magna cum laude from Pace University in 2014, and worked for an international broadcasting network prior to enrolling in law school.

Sierra has particular experience in assisting families in the fight for a fair and appropriate public education. Sierra has experience working with the New York City Department of Education's special education unit, achieved a compensatory education order for a child before the Office of Administrative Law, and served as a middle school English and Language Arts teacher in the historic district of Newark, New Jersey. She has been on every side of the IEP meeting table.

Sierra is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Monmouth County Bar Association. She is a qualified Family Law Mediator and is a member of the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators.

When Sierra is not working, she can be found in her garden growing vegetables or raising monarch butterflies to maturity, all under her cat's watchful supervision. She loves walking her dog through New Jersey's beautiful parklands, reading, and crafts. Sierra has lived in Thailand, California, New York, and Ohio, but is an outspoken New Jersey convert since following her partner here. Go Devils!
