Paris P. Eliades, Esq. brings more than four decades of distinguished legal experience to Hira & Strlovski, LLC. A highly respected attorney, and past President of the New Jersey State Bar Association, Mr. Eliades has built an exceptional career defined by skilled advocacy, professional leadership, and an unwavering commitment to the legal profession.
Throughout his career, Mr. Eliades has earned a reputation as a formidable trial attorney, accomplished negotiator, and trusted advisor. His extensive courtroom experience, combined with his practical and thoughtful approach to resolving complex legal disputes, makes him an invaluable resource to clients navigating challenging family law matters.
A Distinguished Legal Career
Mr. Eliades began his legal career in 1985 as a law clerk to the Honorable Ronald B. Graves, J.S.C., who at the time was the sole judge assigned to the Family Part in Sussex County. This experience provided him with an invaluable foundation in family law and the opportunity to observe some of the region's most accomplished trial attorneys.
Following his clerkship, Mr. Eliades joined the Sussex County Prosecutor's Office as an Assistant Prosecutor, where he led the Juvenile Division and handled select indictable criminal matters. In this capacity, he served as the primary liaison to Sussex County law enforcement agencies on juvenile matters and gained substantial trial experience.
Mr. Eliades subsequently entered private practice, initially joining a prominent Bergen County law firm before returning to Sussex County in 1990. He became a partner at a well-established Sparta law firm, where he practiced for 18 years, developing extensive litigation experience in family law, personal injury, criminal defense, domestic violence, workers' compensation, and complex civil disputes.
In 2012, Mr. Eliades established his own law firm in Sparta, New Jersey, where he continued to build a highly regarded practice centered on exceptional client service, effective advocacy, and the resolution of complex legal matters.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Eliades has successfully represented clients in numerous jury and bench trials, developing the judgment, confidence, and courtroom skills that come only from decades of hands-on litigation experience.
One of the defining achievements of Mr. Eliades' career was his election as the 116th President of the New Jersey State Bar Association in May 2014. He became only the second attorney from Sussex County in the Association's history to hold this prestigious position.
At the helm of the largest organized bar association in New Jersey, Mr. Eliades crisscrossed the state attending county and specialty bar functions, appeared in Trenton to meet with Legislative leaders to address important legislation, testified before the Assembly and Senate Judiciary committees and argued the NJSBA's amicus position before the Supreme Court in the matter of Gnall v. Gnall.
During his year, Mr. Eliades asked the Board of Trustees to create the Lawyers in Transition Committee and the Unmet Legal Needs Committee. In its first year, the Lawyers in Transition Committee was wildly successful and assisted countless attorneys, helping them navigate their life's changes. The Unmet Legal Needs Committee was a prestigious array of talented lawyers and scholars. Chaired by former Supreme Court Justices Virginia Long and Helen Hoens the committee was charged with evaluating whether it was possible to create a commercially viable business model that would help unemployed and underemployed lawyers earn a decent income while simultaneously serving a segment of our population that needs legal services at a reduced rate.
And finally, in an act characteristic of the good charitable work attorneys perform every day, Mr. Eliades successfully launched Lawyers Feeding New Jersey. Through the generosity of law firms, individual lawyers, judges, and their loved ones, over 300,000 meals were provided to people in our state who are hungry.
The experience as President of the New Jersey State Bar Association established Mr. Eliades as one of the preeminent attorneys in our state. As a result of his reputation, Mr. Eliades was appointed as the Municipal Court Judge for Hardyston Township and Sparta Township.
In May 2020, Mr. Eliades served as the Chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association's Judicial and Prosecutorial Appointments Committee for a one-year term. JPAC reviews the qualifications of candidates to the Superior Court, prospective Prosecutors and Judicial candidates for reappointment. JPAC is comprised of 39 talented and diverse attorneys. It is the only non-partisan component of the appointments process.
In recognition of his many contributions to Family Law on October 5, 2021, Mr. Eliades was awarded the New Jersey State Bar Association Family Law Section's Saul Tischler Lifetime Achievement Award.
